You know you’re at a Red Fang video shoot when…
I sat down with Adam Pike, the man who tours with Red Fang, does their sound AND recorded their first album, about the state of the sludge scene, partying with Slayer and 400-pound dudes in beer-can armor.
I had a great time interviewing Ben Ward from Orange Goblin before their show with Clutch on Saturday in Portland. We discussed the need real rock stars, why Black Sabbath is the root of all rock ‘n’ roll and why he hopes Red Fang will give Metallica a good kick up the ass.
I had the immense pleasure of interviewing Athon, the bassist/vocalist of Black Tusk. He chatted with me about fire-escape barbecuing, their newest EP, and how to catch fish with your own beard, as well as quite a few other hilarious tales.
You can read it here. Enjoy.
Erik of Lord Dying chatted with me about signing to Relapse Records, crazy tour stories with Red Fang and why Portland’s metal scene rules.
I was lucky enough to interview Bryan Giles of Red Fang about hilarious video mishaps, his favorite Portland memories and the band’s plans for 2013.
While I was interviewing Bryan from Red Fang today, a drunk dude walked up to us and said, “The band playing here tonight—Red Fang?—are they good?”
In light of the fact that I spotted the drummer of Red Fang in the audience of two different shows in Portland this weekend, I decided to post this video of the first time I saw them live, just over a year ago in Sacramento.
It’s so crazy how much they’ve blown up since then. It’s thrilling that their immense talent is getting rewarded.
Yeah, I’m reblogging myself. I was going through old photos got reminded of just how unbelievably attractive Aaron Beam is when he’s playing. Red Fang is such a killer band. If you didn’t know, now you know.
